yeah rocket that is what i have is the recon led dark tails.

at the time that I got them they didn't have the 3rd brake lite dark it was on back order so i have to do that yet.

The one side got scratched up so it needs to be redone. Figured I would try VHT this time and see if I can get them a little darker than the vinyl made them.

i think im going to do another layer after xmas cause the wife should be getting me my tailgate recon strip with white reverse lights....

I have a clear 3rd brake light, as well. led. I'm gonna vht that one It's just a matter of getting it to match the recon's.

Vht works; I have it on my eyelids, plenty dark, I understand if you go too dark , you can use alcohol to try again . I haven't had too I did 6 coats on my eyelids, and only three coats for the tails, one coat for the third brake light. Ya'll know my reasons, (******** humans. driving behind me) But suffice to say ya have to do a coat,wait do another , till you get the shade you want. It can be too dark. But it's your ride.

I am thinking 2 or 3 coats on the tails. I want them dark but not so dark that no light can be seen. Don't need anyone running into me.

just make sure you get a good clear coat on them. that stuff will blow off

I didn't use, wait yeah I had ****** old clear coat on mine. I would go four coats teach, You'll be darker than mine but still have plenty of brake light I believe.Mine with three had some of these guys telling me too darken them. lol.

Sorry, had to sleep for a bit.... yes those are with three coats and clear coat, no sanding.

I might try that on my 3rd brake light, it is a lot cheaper then buying a whole light.

found somepics of the 08 i hade before my son gaige was born and i had to upgrade to a quad cab andit reminded my that i need to get my rollpan welded

That is a nice looking truck. The pan does look good welded. Might have to think about welding mine in now.

Always wished I could get a rc/sb truck. Guess maybe someday when the kids are grown or when I am rich and can have an extra truck as a toy, whichever comes first
