I missed the first deer by slamming on the brakes. But I had two deer slam head long into the drivers side of my Ram. One hit the drivers door the other hit the bed.

I plan to try and pull the dents out tomorrow.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Damn that sucks. I take it you don't have full coverage? Might get lucky and find a complete door matching color even at a junkyard. Did that when my sister slid into a snow bank. Was only $200 for a complete door in the same color but that was on a jeep.

I do have full coverage, but the deductible is more than the repair would cost.

I just need to get the dents to a decent point. I plan to have my Ram in a body shop later this year to get some other work done on it.

I will probably be able to find a replacement door at one of the local salvage yards.

How high is your deductible? That looks like $2000+ damage.

My deductible is $1000. The body shop I use charges less if they do not have to deal with insurance and I plan to use them for more work to repair damage done to my Ram before I purchased it.

I'd definitely be going through insurance for that, looks like 2 new doors and bed/bedside to me.

Bad deal but take it to someone who really knows dentless. They can make that look like it never happened. A newer pickup is not the place to develop your skills and it does take experience to be really good at it.

Could possibly replace the outer door skins of both doors. Due to the damage location on both they are going to be prohibitively expensive to fix with body work. Bed can be pulled out a bit, but the damage on the two body lines around fender wheel well line is going to be difficult. I would suggest finding a damaged truck and cutting the side of it and welding the piece on. With care the repair will be invisible. Cut all the way up to the top rail, you need the upper body line intact as that is about where your weld line will be, repair section will be from bed line to lower weld seam around the wheel to the back lower weld line up to the upper body line. If you can find a complete body panel you could just replace at all 4 weld points (front, back, upper in bed, lower under panel). Good luck.

That is a repaint repair. No way a PDR guy is going to fix that. Look at the crease below the body line. Looks like there is some stretching too.

I doubt your deductible will exceed your repair cost.

Bummer though! Might be worth just getting a PDR guy to fix what he can and leave it?

My plan for tomorrow is to search the local yards for replacement doors (thankfully there are 5 yards within 15 minutes of me) and call my body shop to see about stopping in for a quote.
And when I go back to work on Tuesday I'm going to check with our body work tech to see if he has any recommendations for a PDR shop near our shop.

Glad you walked away from it! Trucks can be fixed end of the day.

Darn Deer, didn't have the sense to hit the Brush Guard

Ask the wrecking yard if they happen to have bed laying around out back
I do know that sometimes you can buy a bed for $750 to $1100, in snow country, some ppl remove the bed to install a Sand Spreader

I've heard of people getting an estimate at a body shop. Filing an insurance claim, with said quote, but owner takes the check directly. Fixes what they want and pockets the rest.

I checked with the local yards this morning. Non of them had any 4th gen rams. I'm going to check online if anyone local is parting out any rams.

I also found that the first deer did hit my Ram. It broke off the arm cover of my passenger mirror. I ordered a replacement this morning.
