Ah thanks for that insight. I don’t know anything about welding. Yeah I paid I think 1100 for these.
Gee, Guess I am getting old, those look like crap, I could do a better welding job , It would be a easy fix at a welding shop. Last pair I bought where quite cheep, but was way back.

I installed Kooks shorty headers on my 2019 ram 1500. So far so good. I hope this does not happen to me.
How does the welds on yours look? sorta like the ones on mine?

These are the headers I had: 35101110 (KKH) Kooks Custom Headers Stainless Steel Torque Shorty Headers

I installed them in 2021. Earlier this year, I started hearing a ticking noise and it got louder as time went by. After an inspection I noticed a hairline crack on one of welds in the passenger side header. I removed it and noticed it way cracked inside. See attached pictures.
Not sure how long these usually last but 3.5 years seems way to short. I've sinced replaced them with the DB Diesel manifolds and all is quiet. Installation of the BD's was a breeze too.

Anyone else seen Kooks break like this?
Did you like the performance of these headers when they weren’t leaking?

I didn’t notice any difference to be honest. Never put any measuring device on it but felt the same to me

Why did you take the BD Diesel exhaust manifolds off, was it because you like the exhaust note of the headers? I just bought them, and I love the quality, Kooks quality by looking at the welds look like they were welded by a tech school shop class, also I put a Magnaflow after cat muffler on for a nice tone.

Update.
Charlie offered me to have them sent in and fixed/replaced. but didn't go with that option as I already have the db deisel ones on there and I'm happy with them.
