bully dog installed in 2013 ram

I ended up picking the 11-12 year in the tuner. Once I got past that screen it showed 2011-2013 year models. When i went to install a tune, it gives me an error code 290, it thinks it's hooked to a different truck but the tuner shows my VIN number in it. Anyone have this issue?

There was one just for the 2013 ram year by it self at the bottom of the update agent. If you need some phone support pm me ill give you my num and chat with you.

Anyone try the seatbelt chime disable or the headlights/wipers yet. I'm finding a few options I try aren't working and are locking up the unit. I'm having to unplug then replug it in to restart it. I called Bullydog today and they said they think they know what it is but to call back next Monday. What gives with that?

will i tried to install mine and i ran into a handful of problems.... like alot of yall are saying on some options it locks up and have to unplug it, #2 when i installed the premium tune and started the truck to go for a test drive the check engine light was on.. right off the bat i noticed the steering was harder...way harder!. i turned it off and back on and it was very easy again for about 5-10 seconds and then it got hard again. i know my truck has some sort of electric assisted steering which is nice with oversize tires it helps but why would my tune want to stiffen it up. so i get to the end of my rode and take off and no SPEEDO!. what the heck. i stop and run the code reader built in and it gives me U1412. the abs/brake light will flash fast on the display for a few seconds. so i decided to return it to stock. it did (or at least the display said that) and then i selected to remove tuner and it says that it was already removed. so i tried my high beams and guess what. they are on with my lows and highs. and speedo still doesnt work!. im not a very happy camper right now. and bully dog is closed after 5pm. anyone else have similar issues and got a fix? thanks!

I can't help you, but this is starting to make me worried as my tuner is suppose to be delivered on Wednesday. I have never installed a tuner so I hope mine goes well.

im going to call BD in the am. i went out and tried the truck again and i said i had 3 codes... U1412, U1417 AND U1418. i erased them and started the truck. steering stayed easy like before and i went around the block and speedo worked!!! i dont know what happened. no more check engine light but all 6 of my lights work. fogs and high beams. i hooked up the BD and it says it not installed? what the heck?

These threads are killing me. Waiting on my to arrive and now not as sure I want to install it as I once was. I come from the world of tuning motorcycles which I have never had a glitch. Hope this does not let me down.

Are you guys with 2013's noticing any performance difference? I saw on another forum a guy didn't notice anything, and that definitely wasn't the case with my 2012.

This type of feedback is not great after a release. I feel bad for the guys who are dealing with this. Looks like BD jumped the gun on release. I'm just going to wait a few months and let them work the bugs out.

Mine pulls a little harder with the regular tune installed. Haven't tried the performance tune yet. I also have the check engine light with the tune installed. I called Bullydog last night and they told me to read DTC's and write down the code (P0601) I'm getting then uninstall the tune. I couldn't go any further with them as I was at work and didn't have access to a computer. They told me to call back today. I'll keep everyone posted.

I couldn't go any further with them as I was at work and didn't have access to a computer. They told me to call back today. I'll keep everyone posted.

I get the same code P0601 with a tune installed on my 2013 Ram 1500. Hoping there is a patch coming for this. Truck still runs good though.

Called Bullydog today and they indeed have a patch for the check engine light. They took over my computer and downloaded it to the tuner. No more check engine light now. I asked about the other features freezing up and having to restart the tuner. They said a patch is coming in a couple of days for that. He told me to check back in 3 to 4 days and it should be available.

Well thisa sucks BUT this usually happens on new toys. I'll wait a bit. Thanks guys for the feedback, good or bad.

This was the same case when the BD and T1000 was launched for the 11 and 12.
It took 2-3 software updates to clean it all up
In the end, they are pretty quick to make revisions.

Guys who ordered the tuner with 2013 Rams, how many miles do you have on your trucks? I feel the need to wait until my truck has a few thousand miles on it before getting considering a tuner.

Also, is a catch can required when you add a tuner to your truck? Thanks

I have 3500 miles on mine and yes I would suggest getting a catch can with it.
