I was thinking, If I where to go with the pipe bumper, where would I go about hanging D-rings from? I'd think the pipe would split if it had to take any real shock...that would not be fun in the mud...

Sorry I forgot to post here. I tried getting the bumpers on there, but it looked hideous and wasn't worth posting at all.

Why hang d-rings if you could just use the bumper itself?

Maybe some thick wall roll cage tubing with a top peice longer with corners and the bottom shorter with no sides. To get good tubing you will spend some $$$$$ though.

I think Lukes hinting at if your using a good bar you could just run the strap or shackle around the bar, then no need for d rings.

Bar? I would almost like a pre-runner set-up tho to to reduce the shock on the frame when I find a ledge under water, but would that be street legal?

Lets start brain storming here. Your looking for a pre runner bumper with the abiltity to be attached to. The attachments will be for pulling either your truck out or someone elses correct?

kind of a combination of both, the topone with less bars and slightly thicker bars with the bar of the second one to protect the grill .

(the top one with out the winch support and with the bar of the second one on top.)

if you are looking for protection and a tow point that you can get built for cheap, you would be better off with 2x4 thick steel bar, like 52" and then add the tubes for grill protection. similar to what most jeeps use.
the tube bumper will bend and not do its job when you need it most.

jackpot, it was a tube bumper or one like the one above. what could I expect something like tht to cost? would like the bar almost as wide as the truck minus about 4" on either side if possible.
