I keep trying to install an aftermarket led third tail light on my ram, but it just blows the fuse each time. I took the same tail light and installed it on my buddies ram and it work great. I don't understand this. It is a 15A fuse and the cover of the fuse panel says it should be 15A. Right now I have a 20A in there because I ran out of 15A fuses trying to get this thing to work.

I just want to get rid of the stock tal light to go with my LED tails. Any ideas??

Make sure the depth of the light is not touching anything at the back once its installed.
Check for a bad spot on your wiring harness. May be shorting against the cab.

Sent while I was supposed to be working...

That was my thought, but its all working fine. Wires don't even have rub marks or dirt on them.

are you checking the wires just at the harness in the back of the truck? there could be a short elsewhere

Does the stock light now blow the fuse when reinstalled? If so, something may have happened in the connector or wire harness when it was disassembled.
