Have a 2024 3500 with the HO and Aisin.

My ERS switch isn't working. Not sure if it ever did as I got the rig used. Have tried all manner of button press combos to activate and am getting nothing.

Any instructions floating around on how to pull and test/replace this switch?

Are any of your other steering wheel controls/buttons not working?

If you have others not working too it might be worth checking out the steering wheel clock spring?

Have you scanned for DTCs?

The steering wheel controls use the clockspring as an interface.
Sometimes the connections inside the steering wheel fail, but we see this more on the older trucks.
There are several threads and YouTube videos that cover troubleshooting the connections and clockspring replacement.

If you had AlfaOBD*, you could confirm the ERS is configured as available.

AlfaOBD ERS available.jpg

* Other items required to utilize AlfaOBD include the following;

OBD2 BT or USB interface.
Security Gateway Bypass Harness for all 2018+ Ram trucks.
Choice of AlfaOBD for android or windoze with a phone, tablet, or laptop.

If towing heavy loads, especially in mountainous terrain, the ERS function is invaluable.

I use mine almost daily, with or without a load. I rarely tow but sometimes carry heavy loads.

thanks!!

you think if it's just a switch issue alfa would say "unavailable"?

i have the bypass and a regular scan tool but will need a BT adapter. the one i had sucked and stopped working. if i recall, alfa has a free option with limited functionality... will that be enough to scan the ers?

You're most welcome.

FYI, I have seen Uconnect options magically disappear on my radio before. I think they're all quite flaky and inconsistent with unexpected glitches.

Mine changes the favourite gas station almost daily, and sometimes restores without any intervention.
I keep the key-off power option set to 10 minutes. That changes to zero, intermittently, and sometimes repeatedly. Other times, once in X months.

AFAIK, the demo version of AlfaOBD does not permit any changes.
I don't know if you can check the status of any BCM options without requesting a change.

I fooled around with the demo version very briefly before getting frustrated and paying for the App.
