Butyl tape?

Jut before I go out buying crap, correct my if I'm wrong, but is it butyl tape that holds the weather panel thing behind the door to the door itself? Also I see Napa has is but it says for window, is this not the right stuff?

Butyl is what they use for windshields, back glass installations. Its pretty nasty stuff. You might be thinking of double-side tape?

For sure not double tape. It's black almost rubber looking, when you hear it up it gets very tacky.

Yea, that sounds like butyl. It never really cures, its always tacky. We've got it at Napa before, they have different thicknesses as well.
