I am looking at buying a very clean 2019 Laramie with 190k on it. We owned a 2004 for about 8 years otherwise I haven't owned a Ram since.
I am wondering if there are any specific issues with the 2019 model year I should be aware of. I realize that its a lot of miles which doesn't worried me a great deal with regard to the engine.
Its other things like, trans failure, electrical issues, etc.

Any feed back would be appreciated.

If it made it up to 190k miles in 5 years my guess is they are all highway miles (14k per year is average and that truck has seen 38)

You may see basic wear and tear though, front end components

Trucks probably closer to 6 years old now,if it was originally bought in the fall of 18,that would equate to a little over 31000 miles a year, still a fair bit on a yearly basis though.

Idle hours? run hours? bought mine with 100k like 90 idle hours. it was all highway. sounds like yours would too. 5 years - 200k like 40k mi per year. you dont do that starting and stopping in city traffic with average speed of 20 mph. you are likely getting a great truck , unless it was trailed heavily. I am unsure how to determine that without some history. But here is my guess if its a gas 5.7 1500 - someone serious about trailing 40k year would like choose another configuration. Mine is about 130k , hasnt made as much as fart. i bought extended warranty, likely wasted money.

Technically you could. The trucks 6 years old,not 5,and if it was used 6 days of the week,a little over a 100 miles a day would put the milege on it,that the OP has posted

All - thanks for the feed back.

Sorry for omitting the fuel and model, its a 1500 and it 5.7 gas. How would I determine the idle hours?

I haven't had a chance to drive it yet as it is in the dealers shop getting the grill vents repaired.

Thanks again for the feedback.

Wow, lots of miles to start out. Maybe OP can find something similar with a lot less miles. But does sound like Highway for sure.

I would have jumped on highway miles 5 years ago since I drive 25K+ miles a year (lots and lots of highway miles).

Since the pandemic, though, and lots of people drive rideshare or do delivery. I drive over 2K miles a month commuting between home, work, and local relatives (about 500 miles/week). When you start talking 30K miles a year you are borderline IMO if you are not driving for work and I think there are a lot more Lyft, Uber Eats, and Amazon driver's out there driving day and night under "personal use" on their registration these days than regional salespeople driving around between 4 states on a regular basis.

Just my .02

Check the rear window frame for leaks , cracked frames on rear power slider has been an issue , water gets into RF behind the rear seat and gets expensive. That’s a lot of mileage on 2019 !

I'd want a warranty with that many miles. I'd also want an independent inspection done + and oil change (unless you can do it yourself).

I bought a used 2011 F150 with 55K miles on it. I was going to get an oil change done right away, but the dealer said they already did one and my wife talked me out of it. At about 5000 miles after buying it, started stalling out at stop lights. Sometimes an oil pressure warning. Long story short, it needed a new engine. Had sledge built up, looked like chocolate.

So now I'm a bit soured towards used vehicles. Talked about it with my wife when she didn't like the prices of a new Ram. Told her I could get used, but don't forget about that cursed F150. You can look at service records, but probably not going to know if they were towing a boat that was too heavy.
