I put the Mopar lights on my truck. It's not too difficult to do. The biggest issues are wiring per the directions, interior parts removal and locating the template.

I did see a wire going up one of the pillars, but there are no plugs on the harness. I kinda think from reading some interior mod threads that wire is for an auto-dim mirror. I do believe somebody mentioned it wasn't powered unless the headlights are on. So if you don't have an auto-dim mirror, check it with both headlights on and off, and you might not need to go back to the fuse box.

The interior parts removal requires some big Torx drivers for the seat belt anchors. The coat hanger hooks are pretty brittle, so don't feel bad if you break one removing it. They're not costly and can be replaced after everything is re-assembled.

The template is a bit sketchy, but just take your time. After you think you've got it located, place the light housings on the template and look around and from the front to be satisfied they're properly located. A knockout tool would be best, but I used a metal hole saw. It made a slightly bigger hole from skipping a little until it started cutting (even with a pilot bit). The housings are ample to cover it up. It's not a bad idea to use a bit of silicone sealer on the gaskets, either.

Glad if you found my post useful. :favorites13:

There are threads covering the steps of interior trim removal, I believe. I kinda figured out you need to remove A-pillar trim/assist handles (they use the big Torx like the seat belt hangers) and the B-pillar trim. You'll also have to deal a little with the foot well trim panel that goes into the A-pillar trim. It's been a few years since I did it, so I can't recall if I needed to do anything more past the B-pillar than remove the coat hanger hooks to remove the head liner.

I believe it took about 4 hours. I did have to re-do the trim pieces some since I didn't get them in correct order of re-assembly. If you want any other antennas, do it while you've got everything open.

I got Recon blacked out amber LED roof lights and had the local sunroof shop install them..ill do lights anywhere but drillibg into the roof i draw the line!! They are absolutely mint though and add such a nice look..he installed them all even spaced on center, although sometimes i wish i specified to space them like the big rigs..stil look great though, i would do it, it adds a nice touch since none of the 1500's even have the option to have them

If you're confident the bolts are all the way out, I would guess the cover tabs that go in the dash panel aren't in the slots and are keeping the bolts in a bind by pushing up on the cover. When I did it, one of the tabs was not in the slot as-built and was folded underneath the pillar cover. That pic is of an SRT cover I intend to install after my radio is sorted-out.

If you think the bolts are out but the cover has them in a bind, I would try either needle-nose pliers on the bolt heads while putting some pressure on the cover to take the bind off the bolts. Or maybe just give it a good pull.
