The best are ones that never leak...and I never had a 2500 or 3500 that didn’t eventually leak and/or corrode around the holes where the wires penetrated the roof. If it were me, I wouldn’t ruin the integrity of a drip free roof but if you decide to go for it there are kits from Mopar. There are aftermarket magnetic wireless units but I don’t know if they are quality or dependable.

The part numbers below will give you some info for researching pricing.

Cab Lamp - Mopar (68362179AE)

Snap In Nut - Mopar (6509432AA)

Header Wiring - Mopar (52112533AD)

I would only add them if they were required. I've owned a couple older trucks that came with them from the factory, and they always ended up leaking at some point. Usually it was from the gasket(s) drying out and cracking. It's easy enough to change a gasket, but damage can occur if you don't catch it right away. Looks are subjective, and if you like the look of having clearance lights, more power to you.:favorites13:
Personally I prefer a clean roof line.

LOVE the cab lights.

I've owned 4 trucks and 2 of them had lights installed. Never had an issue. Quality parts and either a long careful install or get a reputable instal place. Shouldn't be an issue.

I'm in the yes camp on cab lights. I have had 2 trucks that I was able to order them on, and 3 trucks of mine that I added them to. Also installed them on several other trucks over the years and never had any issues with any of them. The hardest part is drilling that first hole.....

A lot depends upon how long one plans to keep the truck. Most only keep a vehicle for a couple to a few years and then trade for the next new whizbang offered by Ram. However, if you plan to keep it longer than six to eight years - and you live in an area known for corrosion - them you could be a candidate for leaking clearance lights.

As stated above, usually it is the gaskets that go first so vigilant maintenance/replacement of the gaskets and you may it have any problems regardless of how long you own it. I could never time it just right to replace gaskets before one started leaking so err on the conservative side as they are cheap. And yes, they look great when lit up and not leaking.

P.S. I'm not a fan of sunroofs either...due to potential for leaking.

I had my dealer put them on my 2016 3500 Mega. Factory lights, $226.31 installed. Wiring harness is already there. I could have done it but they do it all the time and it took 1-2 hours.
