I’ve got a very stale smelling interior odour

The filter access behind passenger glove box has a sealed panel. Cannot open and replace the air filter.

How is this done?

My 16 has 2 bolts. Perhaps the dashes are different by model?

The filter did not become a standard offering until 2017.
You can purchase the filter and a door from various manufacturers.
Wait to proceed until you have the filter door in hand, so you don’t make any mistakes.
If you look at where it should go ,you will see that the opening is marked on the case but has not been cut out.
A razor knife with a new blade works best ,plus a plumbers torch to heat the blade.
When you heat the blade it will slice through that plastic like it’s soft butter.
It may take a little twisting your body to get it done , but take your time ,and keep reheating the blade to keep it cutting well.

Not a hard job at all , helps if you are ambidextrous,but still very doable.
