So I have been entertaining the idea for a lift on my 4x2, and went to some shops to get some prices. Upon talking to the guy, I was informed of a couple things then talked into some things that I did not want so decided to take a step back and seek some advice from my friends on the forum.

For you guys who have Body Lift knowledge:

With the 3" lift (On top of a 2" Front level) does the exhaust/pipes have really bad spacing off of the back? The sales rep was saying that there is bad spacing with just a lift and was trying to get me into paying just over $5.5k for full suspension and new wheels.

If I don't really plan on off roading, then wouldn't the body lift be just fine?

Would a body lift be alright with my stock express wheel set (275/60r20)?

Kind of tight on cash, as you all have been here. So was thinking about lift then wheels or vice versa. Just wanting to know if I am getting ripped or not

Body lift then wheels is cheaper. If you do a 3" lift your exhaust pipes will be exactly three inches below where they are today on the body. A decent exhaust shop should be able to tuck them up for you.

Is this a dealer you are talking to?

I have seen guys on here with adapters that turn the pipes up to where they need to be an look pretty good. The tires am wheels will work fine they will look a little small. Here my 11 4x4 outdoorsman with 2.5 level am 3 in pa body lift am stock tires http://www.ramforum.com/f41/got_lift_now_time_tires-32192/

Nope- Was not talking to the dealer, but an After market truck shop. "Eastern Trucks"

The pipe adapters are a good idea. Your truck looks sick, thanks for the link! I think I am set on that then, probably going to go for the 3in PA and a level, then move towards tires.

How does the pipes look on your Outdoorsman? Manageable? or did you get adapters too?

It's a little low but not to bad I'm going to hang it a little higher by cutting the hanger push it up an weld it. I only need 2 inchs or so to satisfy me

The factory tips have a weird set up on them. Like a flange. You can loosen them (takes some beating around because there is a tack weld) then turn them up and tighten them. I couldnt find an exhaust shop I trusted and I discovered this when I was messing around underneathe there. A pic of mine from behind with 3" body. Some angles it looks weird with your tips going up but its free and looks better than the tips hanging down.

the shop you talked to was right that your exhaust tips would be low, but the cost to offset them up should be a hell of a lot cheaper than a suspension lift and labor to install. Go to another shop because they are just after your money

Yeah I was quoted like $65-75 to raise the exhaust they will just cut it then re weld it to the desired height.
