I have the lifetime warranty on this truck, so I’m about to take it in for front wheel bearings as I can hear they are going out. I believe the shocks will be replaced under warranty at that time as well.

I’m about to lift this truck. It’s been a good one and has had virtually no problems in 10 years other than the water pump. What else do I need to have looked at before I lift it?

Lifting it is likely to limit my ability to get warranty coverage on affected parts in the future. I’m okay with that. I want to lift my truck. If I have to cover some suspension or wheel related things in the future, so be it. That said, I’d like to make sure I get covered replacement on anything that needs it now before I lift the truck.

Covered by warranty or not, what should I look into before I lift this truck?

That would surprise me if shocks were covered under your warranty as these are generally considered wear items like brakes. Good luck with the lift. I'm sure you know, lifting your truck is not the place to try and save money - because that'll cost you more in the end. ;)

The shocks are covered under the warranty, surprising I know, but they are covered.

I’m not looking to save money with the lift. Working with Nick, but probably going to do the zone 6”. I’m not looking to spend more than I need to, but it costs what it costs. I like this truck and I’m going to really use the lift it isn’t just for looks, so I’m not going to save a few bucks that ends up costing me more in the end.

I'm going from memory here, but the Chrysler Lifetime warranty did cover them as "suspension" but there was a caveat. If they are just worn out, they aren't covered as it's a maintenance issue. If they actually break/blow out, they are covered as a warranty issue.

Keep in mind once you lift the truck that high things will wear out faster and the truck will never drive the same It may look good but never ride the same. Thats why i didnt lift my 2014 like i did on my older rams got use to the nicer ride lol.

I’ve been a little concerned about this. But some people swear the ride is better after the lift.

This isn’t my daily anymore. It’s going from 25+K a year to 9K or less, so it shouldn’t wear out too fast. If I’m wrong about that, please tell me now lol.

Hmm, I need to look into that more. I wasn’t aware of the caveat. If so, that may be on my dime as part of the lift. The rears were on me anyway. I was hoping to use refreshed oem fronts but it may not happen if that caveat applies.

With my lift and shocks, my truck rides better than it did stock. Even with the larger tires I had installed last may.
