Does anyone know of a shop or anyone that can and is capable of doing a Cam swap on an 03 5.7, in or around central Arkansas?

No one in town seems to know anything about Hemi's or much on degreeing a cam and setting timing on it for the Hemi.

As far as degreeing the cam you can just put cyl #1 at TDC and then use the marks on the timing chain, cam and crankshaft sprockets, its pretty straight forward.

As long as the person who is doing the tune knows the specs of the cam I don't see why you would need to degree it.

Degreeing a camshaft is only to make sure the cam is ground correctly and if it is, all the numbers will match whats on the cam card. I've sent a few camshafts back that weren't ground correctly.

Every cam I've ever installed on the Ford modular motors has been at least six degrees off its intake centerline. Most don't screw with that, but for best performamce we put a set of adjustable crank sprockets and timed them to within about half a degree.

I wonder if that's why Stu had so much trouble getting my truck tuned after my cam swap. Maybe I should have degreed it.
