Can a 2006 3500 5.9 handle charging a 100ah LiFeP04 ?

I would like to upgrade my campers battery from a 120ah LA to a 100ah LiFePo4 but can my stock 130 amp alternator handle the lithium?
My truck is a stock 2006 RAM 3500 4X4 5.9 with 90,000 KM on it.
Camper is a 2006 Bigfoot 10.5 2500

I don't think it's the amperage, I think you need a special charging system for lithium. All of my lithium battery powered tools and RC batteries use chargers designed for lithium batteries, because they are actually several batteries that need to be balanced.

You could probably buy a charger that plugs into a 12 volt outlet that will handle the charging of the lithium battery, but I'm just guessing.

You might also need to change the converter in the RV, some don't play well with lithium batteries.

My neighbor just purchased 2 Lithium bats for the trolling motor on his boat. He's still using the same old charger on them that he used on his lead acid bats without any probs. He did tell me that he's not getting any more runtime on the motor with the liths than he got with the higher amp lead bats.

Yes!!!!Using a Dc to Dc charger using a circut breaker off your trucks battery should do the trick.
set up
30 or 50 amp charger depending on how big your alternator is.
a good dc charger will let you set the type battery your charging agm, Lithium ion etc.
The other important issues is running the proper size charge cable/wire to however you plan on making the connection to actually charge the battery’s???
I run a 200amp Lithium in my trailer
set up with a 50 amp dc/dc set up and the ability to also charge it with the trucks alternator is very handy!!!!
