I have a 2011 ram crew cab short box auto tranny 3.73 gears 3/4 ton with a 6.7. Can I tow a 14000# fifth wheel camp trailer, with 2200# of hitch weight? I am getting mixed opinions and just want to be sure I am not overloaded. The 14k is the GRoss weight on the rv. It is 11300# empty. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

that cummins will tow anything you put behind it! like said before though its whats legal. depends on if you want to be legal on your weight i suppose. i had a 92 d250 with a cummins and a 5 speed. towed a car trailer with 12,000 pounds of railroad ties, im pretty sure i wasnt legal but it towed it no problem.

Can you run it goose neck? No doubt motor can haul that load no problem. It's only 150 lbs heavier than max load, that's like an small adult man. Or a giant toddler on Maury povich

I assumed the truck was 4 wheel drive
I'm glad you posted that link, I can't navigate to it from my phone

Can you? Certainly
Since it's a 5er that big I'm assuming you'll be taking a family on long distance trips

Should there be some kind of accident while your hauling overweight your insurance company has the right to deny claim (gets really bad when someone gets hurt or even killed)
It's one of those it'll never happen to me situations but it's a risk I try to avoid.

Some insurance companies won't even insure the trailer if you don't have a "properly equipped" vehicle to haul it

As long as the 2200# of tongue weight is when the trailer is at its max gross, I would think you would be fine. Figure that since the max tow is 13,200# and your max payload is 2160# As long as you never fully load the trailer I highly doubt you would have any problems. Certainly the truck will haul it, and if you get in an accident move stuff into your truck before the cops show up lol, or don't exceed the 13,200#

Not a Diesel Guy but if its a 3500 i would say prolly OK for any Travel Trailer out there except for a few that require the Dually but don,t know the cut-off WT. None of the Dealers around here stock 2500,s unless in a SC model. Good Luck.
