Shut the truck off in park and sometimes the ignition won’t unlock and let the key fully turn counterclockwise to get it out. If I leave the truck off at that point and put the column shifter back into Drive and then back into Park again, right after i throw it back in park if i turn the key counter clockwise quickly I can get it out.
I would just leave the key in the truck but obviously I can’t if it’s not turning off all the way.
Called the dealer because I heard about the shift interlock recall but they said my Vin number does not fall in the recall..
Bunch of hog wash IMO
Is there a way to fix this in the cheap? Or modify it?
Iv already dealt with a similar problem once a few years ago. The key at that point just was not being recognized by the truck and I had to replace the keys and that little key reader/receiver behind the seat on the back of the truck. Also had to pay for the tow truck and all that stuff.
Now this key problem. Im getting sick of new vehicles and electronics problems....regardless of the brand.
