Can't tow that with a 3500? Wha?

I have a 2013 3500 DRW 4x4
I have towed newer gooseneck trailers with no problems. I went to tow my friends older horse trailer and suddenly PROBLEM
My stance is much higher than his 3500 non 4x4 and the rear rake is more pronounced. I could either put the trailer on level and leave 1/2" clearance between it and the tailgate or lower the trailer pin to give me 5" clearance but load the trailer 70% on the rear axle. Neither is a real solution

I see that the new Rams can get the auto adjusting airbag. This seems like a great solution, but the truck and trailer guys around here have not heard of this. When they talk airbags they talk lifting and higher would only make my problem worse.

Does anyone know of a solution for this. Can the new air system be put on the 2013? Is there an after market set up? Thanks much!

Only solution I've seen is the Crabbers and Oystermen pulling the leaves entirely and installing the 5k load bags with an onboard compressor. Lets 'em flop the ass end on the bumpstops when loading the trailers and jack it right back up when towing through the boggy. Never done this setup myself but seen it in action. Pretty cool.

Is it a older trailer? Trailer manufacturers are noticing the taller rigs, and are making their trailers compatible w the newer rigs.
Some people add a subframe between the axle and frame of trailer to raise it up. Flipping the axles will add some height also.

But
I know of people who use 2 larger diameter tires on front axle.

I would think the cheapest and easiest option would be to lift the trailer if your going to tow it a lot or try to load the hitch heavy and get a little bit of squat to help level things out.

Not sure how far\often you are towing your friends trailer, but if it's a one-time short move without any sharp turns why not just pop the tailgate off? If not, what was said above..
