That's an excellent idea.

I don't know why I didn't think of it. I've copied several CDs to my laptop, then to USB sticks but never thought to transfer them directly to my phone.

I will be adding this project to my 'to do' list.

Do you have any preferred Android app to manage your audio selections?

.
My I phone 14 Max is just 128G, no way I would have music on it, but that is just me. I burn up enuf space with photo's and video's.
ADDED: Of course getting bombarded with ads and AT & T trying to get me to go I Phone 17, AH NO!!! Not want no built in AI BS in my phone.

When I got the 2014 with the 8.4 radio, it did not have a hard drive or disc player like the 2010 had, I had scads of old music on that radio.

The book with this truck talks about a player that fits in the center hole and plugs into the usb plug there. I seen one on the lot one time. Bet the dealer price would be silly if still listed.

The wife's Honda has a 6 disc player in it, I don't think I have used it 2 times in the last year.

I use Mp3Caprice for my music provider. Dirt cheap and load tunes into a dirt cheap Mp3 player from Amazon and plug it into the Aux jack. Works great. You just buy the music you want. No subscription. Perfect for any cheap old man.

I was in the same boat. I bought one of the little block box CD players from Amazon. I think I paid around 130 bucs. Plugs right into usb and even gives you a vague read out on your screen. Mounted it in bottom of that massive middle console. Works great. Highly recommend it.

I like the convenience of music on the phone. But I also like CD's too.

If you convert (rip) your CD's to mp3's you can burn ~150 mp3's onto a CD ....and play through most cd players these days (which play mp3's). 150 of your favorite songs is quite a few. Not many people burning CD's anymore I bet... lol

Then again, you could also take your 'riped' mp3's and load thousands of songs onto a $5 16G or 32G USB drive and just leave it plugged into your truck's USB port.

Or Rt Click and drop the Y/T songs into a 'downloader' program and convert y/t music into mp3's and store on your computer. But they don't always sound as good as a ripped CD.

I ordered something off of Amazon that I think will work.
Right now I dont have the time to transfer the files over to a thumb drive.
It's suppose to be here Friday and I'll report back.
I also have a video cam that I have yet to transfer to this truck.
Couple of thoughts: 1. I paid for the CDs so why not use them. 2. A few CDs have some sort of copyright protection on them.....I'm not selling copies.....I'm using for my personal use.

VLC player has the ability to decode many encrypted CDs and DVDs.

This works on my 2022 Ram Classic Warlock.
It's simple. The one usb cord out of the back connects to the usb port inside the console. The player fits inside the console with room to spare. Plug the cord into the port, put a CD in and the stock radio recognizes it and starts playing the cd.
It does come with a remote but at the time of this writing, it does not work. It might be the battery.
You use the stock radio controls to cycle through the tracks.
It comes with extra wires and adapters but they were not needed.
Works for me.

If you post an actual link to things, the page gets credit for it,if anybody goes to the link and buys said product,so don't be scared of posting links instead of screenshots.Works better for everybody

If you find them, I've got a bunch of blank CDs in different capacities, plus ZipDisks, 3 1/2" floppies, and even a box of 5 1/4" floppies still in the cellophane wrapper. I don't remember if I tossed my Zork Trilogy collection when I moved. Anyone need a 9600 baud modem? I could start a PC museum.

Oh, and two medium U-Haul moving boxes full of music CDs. It took me a couple of months to rip them to the HDD then copy them to my flash drives for truck and car. A few albums every night. And I backed them up on an external drive because I don't want to do that again if a drive crashes. I need to find my cassettes...

U talking diff type CD lol fiduciary not music. My big CD matured 26 March. Cashed in, took interest, re-invested. Make sure U cash out that CD than reinvest. Do not do auto reinvest. U will get the lowest APY allowed by law and bank etc than makes big profit. And U only got 10 days after CD matures to cash in or they reinvest automatically.

I'm confident that I have at least Janis Joplin's Greatest Hits & Pearl on the USB stick.
