I want to add an addition battery to my system on a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 with 5.7L are there lots available to make this easier and will my current alternator handle it

Yes the alternator will be fine. To do this just remember pos to pos and neg to neg or else you will be putting 24V to the starter. Very bad thing to happen. When I’ve done this in the past was for 2 separate goals and 2 separate trucks. 1st I used a big (1000 ca)deep cycle battery because I wanted it for winching with out the motor running.
2nd was to run a big ass stereo system with the motor off. It was the largest deep cycle battery I could find(1000ca).
I’m thinking about putting another one in my 18 after the warranty is out.

I was hoping to be able to isolate it or possibly putting a second alternator to keep it and my trailer batteries when towing
