Took the Ram on its first road trip up to Lake Tahoe. 1,800 miles on it now. When we hit gusty winds we started hearing this chirping noise. Sounds similar to parking sensors. When I turned them off it still persisted. Again this only happened in gusts of winds. When it wasn’t windy there were no sounds, other than annoying cabin wind noise but that’s another topic. Not sure how I can replicate for the dealer so I shot a video. Check it out and let me know your thoughts!

Keep us updated on your dealer visit. If any assistance is needed while you're there, let us know. We're available via direct message and would be happy to escalate a case for further handling.

That is the sound of something rubbing on something that is moving/rotating.

I had this happen driving through Wyoming (funny enough, after leaving lake tahoe). But mine ended up being the front wheel well liners rubbing the tire, but sounded different.

If it's not something rubbing. It could be air being forced through a small gap. Creating some harmonics. Could be window seals, door seals, the hood... we all know these hoods LOVE to flex in wind lol

I previously had an issue with the tire lining rubbing when making a uturn. I posted a similar video and that was resolved by the dealer. This one is an odd one, only happened during a part of the trip in gusty winds. Other parts I was driving faster and not a peep. I’m glad I was able to capture on video for the dealer.

It will be interesting to see if the dealer has any idea what it could be. If you can't duplicate the noise, seems like it would be difficult to diagnose. We had a Nissan Rogue that had a roof rack that would cause a similar noise when in wind at certain speeds. Maybe the antenna?? It doesn't sound like something rubbing, to me anyway.

We had this issue on my 2015 ram 1500 and our Dodge Caravan. We tracked it down and it was the radio antenna chirping in the wind.

My wife’s 17 does that same sound. It’s wind on either mirrors or antenna best I can tell. It don’t do it unless it’s windy out and at highway speeds

If I recall my 13 did it as well. My 2500 does not. Which leads me to the mirrors

We head back home soon. If I hear it again I’ll do some more trouble shooting, specifically around the mirrors such as folding them in. I’m fairly certain the chirping is coming through the speakers but will confirm that as well. Thanks all for the input.
I also noticed another issue around vibrations. Around the cruising speeds between 40-50mph a loud vibrating sound can be heard through the cabin cause in some rattling. This immediately goes away when I give it some gas and speed up. I’ve read others saying this could be part of the active noise cancellation system. Oh the joys of being a guinea pig of a 1st model year owner!
