I had the front sway bar break on my Safari van many years ago, it was hollow much like what that one looks like. The replacement was solid and if I ever have to replace the one on my current truck, I'll buy a solid sway bar.
I cannot find an aftermarket front sway bar, only the rear. Unless you know where??
The 1500s don't have or need a front sway bar.

Maybe not aftermarket but OEM is available.I don’t think there’s an aftermarket swaybar for a 4WD
Well that's a bunch of BS...(or you going to say it's called a stabilizer bar?) harharhar
What do you think this is a picture of?

.. that's right a 1500 sway bar, if they weren't needed the factory wouldn't put them on
If you get to it when it's new, or newish, you can crawl under your truck with a couple of cans of black Rustolium, and do a very decent job of rustproofing it yourself. Then again once a summer, get under there and do touch ups, and what ever you may have missed. I'm guessing it may not be as good as a $300 a year job, but it works well for me.
Hard to tell from the pic, but I'll bet it cracked THEN it rusted.
Try Hellwig out of Visalia Ca 800 435 5944. Excellent quality under car suspension products. That (to me) looks like a casting flaw. If air or sand get into the pour, that is what happens and looks like. Had that happen on my 86 Dodge Ramcharger pinon shaft. FitzI cannot find an aftermarket front sway bar, only the rear.
