20181212_234238.jpg 20181212_234238.jpg Hi guys, Happy Holiday, new to this forum so bare with me. My ride 06 Ram 1500 SLT 4.7 second owner, my prior truck was 98 Ram 1500 long bed. Second owner, mileage 193342, previous owner did the whole works on the engine before selling it. Had it for 6mo now and a great truck.
Recently my check engine light came on, I used a generic scanner to get code and result was P0507. Did some research online, which was a great article giving me what I needed to do and check. I have knowledge in working on car for 10+ yrs.
I'm sure most of you know what P0507 reflects on, in my case I had air leak.
I got couple of can of carb/throttle cleaner and sprayed by the intake, air hoses and behind the throttle body while engine was on. All area sprayed had normal idle til I sprayed back of the throttle body. Bingo the idle dropped, sprayed few more times and I had found my issue. Turn the engine of and was time to get busy looking for tear or cracked hose. Moved couple of hoses behind the throttle body and noticed several layers of duct tape peeling off, pulled the tape off and there it was a cracked broken air line. (See pic attached). I cut a small piece of a radiator hose and used as a coupling. Pushed both ends in and problem fixed. Hope this helps anyone.
