Hi guys I got an Amazon gift card from work and was looking at getting a k&n cold air intake for my 2019 new body style ram. They have two different kinds one is more of an open box which is the 77 series i believe and the other is more of a closed box style. I want one to have a bit more tone in it. The 77 series is a little more and I was thinking maybe the open style which that is would sound a bit better? Let me know if you guys know. Also do the throttle body spacers do anything?

Looks like the box one will be closed when the hood is closed. U probably wont hear much.

If money isnt an issue, i would go box. The other will be louder but its just a hot air intake.

Your 2019 from the factory has a cold air intake, that draws air from the front of the truck...I would only choice one that uses the factory opening or your are going backward.

The boxed one is actually cheaper. Here are the links to both of them.

Both are a waste of money and you loose efficiency, if you're not using the factory cold air duct at the front of the truck, you're just wasting money. Look at this link to see what I mean about the factory cold air duct.

I would suggest you look at S&B Filters CAI. After much research, I found their design to be least restrictive. I've had mileage improvement after install.

Throttle spacers do nothing - this isn't the old carbureted days with risers to increase airflow velocity. Use a venturi throttle body instead - I used Moe's. Much snappier pickup from idle.

Also with the s&b filters do you just add a cone filter to your current system?

Do not just buy K&N cause all the cool guys have them. There are much better options available, stay away from oiling filters, that went out with oil bath air cleaners!

Or does anyone have a reasonable price catback system? Or something to buy for the truck

On a stock truck without tuning - just a waste of money. No different than buying chrome for the truck to make it look faster. LOL
