'02 2500 6-speed HO Cummins 3.55 gear. When cold the engine won't make 2K rpm. (I don't work the truck hard, it just won't rpm enough to even get into traffic !) Even after warm-up, after sitting for an hour, the truck won't rpm enough to get out of its own way. Shortly thereafter the engine jumps to life like NOS ! When climbing a small grade, engine slowly loses rpm w/cruise on, but if I downshift the engine comes back to life again! Original VP44 w/150K miles. Fuel pump in tank from factory tsb, always change fuel filter w/oil changes. No on-board fuel pressure gauge to read. Could this be the computer control of the VP44? Have not inspected the heater grid atop the intake. ONLY modification from stock is installation of Mopar exhaust brake that works fine. Any thoughts on this condition?? Thanks.
