So, this whole time from order placement to owning the truck for two weeks I stupidly thought my stock Laramie wheels were 18x9 when in reality they are 18x8. Originally, my intentions were to save money and not upgrade when I had the teuck built/ordered because I was going to get aftermarket wheels/tires. Well, I like the look of the Laramie Wheels.
Here is the issue or stupidity on my part. I had my heart set on the Cooper ST Maxx in 305/70/18. Not realizing my wheels are only 8" wide, The ST Maxx tires recommend a wheel width of 8.5-10". Would a tire retailer even put the 305s on my 8" wheel? If they would id imagine I would not get any warranty? The next size down is the 295/70. They measure about 3/4" shorter, 1" narrower than the 305. Am I being too picky on the size? The most I will ever do is a level on my 2500 and really want to get rid of these damn pizza cutter, crap street tires that are the Transforce.
Would you run the 305s on a wheel not recommended and if so, how would expect the tires to wear? Any pics of 2500s with 295/70 I can see. Thanks
