I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.2 V8. I got the truck back in October of last year and had the transmission rebuilt shortly after getting it. For a 23 year old truck it has been running fine. A couple weeks ago I went to leave home and when I pressed the gas it wouldn’t go and was like it was struggling to get fuel. As I pressed the gas more it would rev the RPMs almost launch and then when I slowed down it would do it again. I got it back in the drive way and turned it off and cranked it right back up. I pressed the gas pedal and it sounded like it had a loupe to it while pressing the gas in park. After doing that for a little while and checking the spark in the plugs it seemed to be fine and running like normal again. On the way home a few weeks later it did it driving down the road. I have a video from inside the truck as well if that would help. Not as familiar with these trucks because I have always had Fords. The motor sounds fine and cranks but when you press the gas it’s like it’s struggling to get fuel and then when it does it shoots the RPMs way up. Any help or anyone else have a similar problem and know what the issue might be? Thanks in advance!!
