Hi, I have a 2011 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 hemi. It has 94,000 miles on it. Most of the time the truck cranks just fine. However, other times the truck will turn over but not crank. There are no engine lights on the dashboard

I took it to my local Ram service department and they said it was the fuel pump. I had them install the pump. I picked it up and thought it was fixed. The very next day first thing in morning it would turn over and not crank again. I dropped it back at the dealership this morning.

I don't think the dealership is going to be able to fix it because it is cranking up for them. I am already out $1200.00 for a fuel pump.

If anyone has experienced this problem or knows anything please let me know.

Thanks k

Crank vs Turn-Over? What's the difference?

If turn-over is one or two revolutions, how does a fuel pump fix that?

1. You need to find a better service department
2. Use some basic mechanical knowledge to overrule the obvious wrong stuff.

Here is a story I shared here a while back -->

I am a subscriber and regular viewer of several YT Channels, and I am aghast at how little some of these guys know. I still chuckle at one guy whose riding lawn mower would not turn over. I think he might have ask his sister what the problem could be, and like many they blame the spark plugs first. After he filmed the replacing the plug with detailed description of each step -- guess what, it still did not turn over. I guess he had just bought it and did not know the brake was to be stepped on or set.
