I live a few minutes from this dealer. They do offer good discounts, but that's true of most dealers here in metro Detroit area.
Bear in mind, those prices they show are usually including every available discount and incentive.

And DAve Smith in Idaho. My local dealer ended up taking off $12,500 off my sticker price and could have been more if I was military and many other discountable qualifiers.

I got 32% off of a $52K sticker on my 2017 EcoDiesel a few months ago. Had to drive 80 miles into Tennessee to get it, but I love the truck and couldn't be happier!

Both Idaho dealers are heavy discounters. Their business model is to pull buyers in from mostly the Western US. People we know who have purchased from them say; 1. You got to get there and what is that cost. 2. They are so busy that the purchase and paper work time can be brutal. 3. Now you have to register the vehicle in your State. But their price was compelling. Some States like Ca are brutal. Ca DMV treats out of State new car purchases with disdain.
Check out Arizona high volume discount dealer. Heard they have a dealer their that is giving the Idaho boys competition.

There is a dealer in Huntington Beach that is very competitive with the Idaho boys. I got a great deal on a Megacab that the Idaho boys didn't have in stock. b6ace7f754f872b7bedcdc473cc6c5c5.jpg

For those who got it out of state, what's the biggest drawback?

Bought my car out of state. In my case the only "issue" was getting there, because the antiquated train system in the northeast broke down in the extreme cold weather the day I went to pick it up.

Saved at least 3k over local, paid 120 for a one way train ticket.

Some States have cooperative DMV, where the out of state dealer can issue plates and registration for your home state. That's what happened for me, so for all intents and purposes I was buying my car in CT when though I went to VA to do it.

Oddly enough, I looked up to about 100 miles away for my RAM and the best price I got was 15 miles from home.

I’ve bought out of state in 3 different states and saved thousands over local dealers. Things you should know:

1) Does the state you are buying in have a reciprocal arrangement with your state? Makes it easier as you can pay your fees at time of purchase.

2) Know your in-state sales tax rate and fees to make sure selling dealer gets it right. Know the dealer fees and charges as well in the state where you are purchasing. Extra fees may diminish the savings. Tracking down mistakes can be a hassle.

3) Being as though you most likely will not visit dealer again, make extra sure everything is right with the vehicle before leaving -drive it thoroughly, freeway as well as city streets, and closely inspect for any flaws.

4) Sometimes delays between both states may happen and you’ll have to contact selling dealer to arrange for an additional temporary tag, also having to make a call or two to DMV to make sure everything is moving along.

Buying the vehicle sight unseen is by far the greatest risk.

Bought my 2014 vette over the internet from very reputable dealer in Rhode Island. I was living in central TX at the time, so a trip up to inspect was not feasible. The car arrived with extensive orange peel in the paint which turned out to be a major production flaw with Corvettes at the time. Was not able to get GM the correct it and had to come out of my own pocket for wet sanding the finish.

Would not buy any vehicle without first inspecting after that experience. Just my .02.

Some dealers...depending on how bad they want to make a sale...will cover your flight and transportation to the dealership...something to at least ask about and check into if you are seriously considering a purchase.
