Today I made it a bit easier to get to the floor bins in my crew cab. I have the Husky Liner floor mats installed. I love them. They were the #2 purchase after getting Linex sprayed in the bed when I bought the truck. It annoyed me though that to get access to the bins it was a matter of holding up the floor mat with one hand while trying to untangle the ratchet straps or rope with the other hand. SO I removed the bins, took a utility knife to the floor mats, and put the bins back in over top.

Looks good, I also have the husky Liners and hate to get my straps it off the bins. I worry about breaking the tops as mentioned as well so I haven't done this. I keep thinking if those break then I'm paying to replace those as well as now having cut my expensive mats

I actually heard Weather Tech is making a mat that allows for this.. but then again, I heard this like 3 months ago.

Cool idea.

It took me awhile to get up the nerve to cut the perfectly fine floor mats. The way I rationalized it was that I still have my factory mats if anything got screwed up.
I'm not too worried about the bin covers. The way I see it, they were taking the same abuse either way. It's either the kids stepping on them, or the floor mats grinding those little teeth into them when the kids walked on the mats. The cuts became easier after that. :)
