My Vararam will be here Friday, and started thinking silly things just for fun..!

My thought was a cutout in the hood horizontally up to the part that slopes down, and the sides of it line up with the contours in the hood. Obviously, this would be Vararam specific.

Anyone seen, done or heard of something like this? Is it theoretically a good idea or a bad idea? Or is it just flat out silly and I should go back to the drawing board?! :)

Not sure how you would do it with the hood latch there though. That thing gets plenty of air through the grill IMO. I put mine on a month ago I think, made a decent difference.

That's very nice. I like how you have "HEMI" on the sides.

Oh cool. Thanks man!

I am really going for an understated, unmodified look on my truck.
My idea was to be unique and subtle, yet functional... I'll keep thinking :)

Do so research into the functionality of a 'ram air' setup.
Then worry not about this.

This. (of at least this if you're not in the fan club of them)

We have a GIANT front grill and it shoves a ton of air into the engine bay...there's better ways to utilize this rather than a ram air hood.

The problem I've had in the past...especially with air cleaner setups, is it sucking in water/crap. Heck, even the hood on my Mazdaspeed 3...which wasn't even ram air but very functional in terms of pushing air over the top engine mount intercooler, would suck all kinds of crap in and made a stinking mess of my engine bay. I've found cigarette butts (seriously), leaves, garbage...all kinds of crap and thats if it isn't sucking in water in heavy rain.

Thy look neat...but are freaking messy...
