I've heard that it will throw codes for sure, (Check engine light will stay on) and that you will lose significant low end torque... I'm keep mine on when I install my LTs. I've also heard that OEM cats are better than hi-flo ones...

You could use the non-foulers to keep from throwing codes

Can you run no cats though, do you have an inspection where you are at?

really??

I'm pretty sure it's federally mandated to have catalytic converter on your vehicle

I'm sure i could point out atleast handful of things your breaks state law on.

To the OP i have ran mine with stock, long tube installed with no cats, and long tube with high flow cats. Yes you will throw a code without them, but if it bothers you that much get a DSP and have a custome tune made problem fixed no light to look at. Most would say thats overkill just run the cats, but it can be done.

Yes, it is a federal law to have them, in all actuality its is against the law to touch them move them from stock location, or replace them with a highflow cat unless it goes bad and a certified shop does the work on them and submitts the proper ppaperwork.... HOWEVER, in some states there is no vehicle inspection for emissions. If you live in one of those states you can run LT's with or without cats because all they do is check via the computer if they are working correctly, and other than that just don't get caught. If you live in an inspection state you simply can't run them unless you have a set of legal shorties and cats to swap out once a year. So to the OP, does your state do an inspection during an emission test or do they just plug into the OBDII port and check for codes? That will determine if you can run them at all.

Yea ill leave them on, Florida doesn't have annually checks for emissions so I could get away with it but I want the most power and clarity in the sound of the motor
