So I've had some bad luck lately. I had a guy back into one of my wheels, but he was good about it and got me a replacement. No problems there. I bought new tires an had them installed shortly after receiving the new wheel. Left the shop and had a horrible wobble. Called and took back to shop two days later. At this time I was informed they could not properly balance my tire because of the chrome clad would not work with there machine. They sent me across town to another shop who rebalanced them. Started to clean my truck today and noticed all four wheels are now scratched between the lug holes. Did not notice with all the goop they used to mount the tires until I started to clean them. I dont know which shop did it, but what do I do?

You can 'try' to go back, but now that you have left the premises for some time, you may be out of luck :(

I ALWAYS go to a shop that mounts rims that the machine doesnt touch the wheel.

After some thought I inspected the original damaged wheel that was replaced mounted and balanced by the first shop only, no scratches. Leaving me to beleive that the second shop had to be the ones who damaged the wheels on my truck. It was dark by the time I left last night so I could not see the wheels. I have to go back to the shop in the morning to talk to the manager. Doesn't seem these situations ever come out good, but I won't quit witout a fight!

People today have no sense of caring what they do to other people's property. Especially
If it's something that somebody else seems to take great pride in...

Today the manager comes out to look at the wheels and immediately says "oh thats just the mold of the wheel, ya ya". Umm no, how about this other wheel in the back of my truck that doesn't have that mark? Then he tries to say the marks had probably been there a while and I just now noticed it. BS #2, no dude I clean my truck at least weekly and I'm **** about it. Then he says that he is absolutely sure they did not damage the wheels because he stood right there as they balanced them. Wow the BS flags were runnin out, he was behind the counter 90% of the time my truck was there. So callin attorney tomorrow to have official letter head sent. Sometimes I can turn into, it's the principal of the matter a hole, wether it cost me more money or not!

Pic is small but if your talking about that circle thats def from a bal machine they did not put the rubber bag or washer thing between that and the hold down nut

Prob is if hes not going to fix it its your word against his and i hope for the best but hes a company they always come out on top. Maybe getting a lawyer will lower those b/s flags lol

Agreed, the tire machine has a plastic disc used between the wheel and the screw nut that holds the wheel onto the machine. Looks like they forgot to use it.

Thought I would shed a little more light on the issue. After doing much of my own research and trips to both shops, I think the guy at shop #2 is correct that they did not scratch the wheels. They used an adapter that can not possibly touch the wheel, the whole reason I was sent there in the first place. Guy at shop 1 has become a real ****, keep in mind I have stayed very calm and only trying to explain the facts. He has really tried to explain some complete BS ways that they balanced the tires and gets pissed when I ask him to show how things can be done. He keeps trying to blame the other shop of course, but good for me they did not even pay shop 2 for the work, they simply asked for a favor. So shop 2 is pissed and willing to testify because they have the correct equipment and did this as a favor and shop 1 is trying to stick it to them. Shop 2 is the one that has been willing to help if I wanted to file a claim and locate someone to fix them. Repair shop says they cannot be fixed. Shop 1 will not file with there insurance and will no longer talk to me. Even after the shop supervisor asked me to come talk to him as I did, when he informed me they are not doing anything about it, he tells his owner that I came by and spent all morning there parked in there bay and would not leave. The a hole asked me to come by, then told me to pull in the bay even after I asked why it would only take up space, and was gone in 20 min. The owner calls a guy I work with and tells him not to send any of his fn friends to his shop again, but the ***** cant call me. Now my friend is getting irritated at me and wants me to drop it. I said sorry bro not gonna happen after this mess. So they have received the first letter and nothing, second will go out in a day or so; then file for court. I think I've gotta decent shot with there lack of cooperation and shop 2 willing to testify that the wheels were all at least 3.5 ounces out of balance when I arrived there and the adapter they used. Yes I did see the adapter before shop 2 did anything, I just did know how it worked. After talking to a couple of attorney's they don't even think i need representation and say I have 2 years to file.
