Dash CB Radio Install

Over Christmas, my brother and I were driving from WY to IN (wooo!) and I mentioned that I had always wanted a cb. 1 month later on my birthday, I got one! what a guy!

Also, when I solder on the PL 259 connector, how much solder should I use?

I got the same cb in my dump truck and love it...I had swr issues as well until I got a good firestick antenna and 18 ft cable...always go with the longer cable and make sure you have a good mounting point for your antenna and you may have to ground out the bracket....if you have a magnetic antenna I always had problems with one till I upgraded

I know this is an old thread. Did you have any fitment issues behind the CB? Did the antenna cord or power connection hit the HVAC stuff deeper in the dash?
