Could I reduce the volume and potentially brightness by going with 4 ohm speakers in the dash instead?
How dramatic will the difference be? At present I have to move the fader pretty far back to even begin to level it out. I've also considered just doing a 4 ohm on the center channel as it is the biggest offender.
I've also considered adding resistor, but would rather not get into all that wiring if it isn't necessary.
I'm aware of the Pac Amp Pro as a way to control inputs, I'm just not sure I want to get that in-depth. I definitely don't like the idea of tearing into the dash/console.
Would using a mid-range speaker in the dash be another strategy?
I could replace the doors with a component system and use the tweeters in the headliners (I have taken the stock tweeters out) and that would surely bring back any highs that are lost.
