I have a 2018 Ram2500. I’m trying to get the dealer I purchased the truck from to turn on the daylight running lights. I have found out that if the truck was shipped to Canada when new they would be turned on. Can anyone tell me how to get them turned on. Thanks

Depending on the dealer they might not know what steps are needed or want to try. I forget off hand what the sales code is for drl's. I believe that they have 2 options, either use the sales code or change something to Canada enable them that way. If you plan on doing any kind of lighting upgrades or really anything that would require a visit to the dealer to try and get something activated I'd look at the alfaobd thread. Post 1 has everything you can do with it. Just some things I've done, added factory remote start and programmed extra keys, added drl's, changed tire size, tpms thresholds, led lighting, hid's with no adapters, programmed and added fog lights, upgraded to the premium cluster and corrected mileage and hours. Probably forgetting a few things. If the dealer was able to enable/change all of that I would have spent around $500 or more just on labor. Cost of what's needed, alfaobd $49 Google play store or download through alphaobd.com, 18+ security bypass cable $50 through @DeereGuy, obdlink mx bluetooth reader ~$60 Amazon, and if you don't have a android or windows device $50 for a Amazon Kindle fire 7 tablet. Well worth the investment.

Your dealer should do it free of charge. For 2018 model years they simply need to add the LM5, LM1 or LMK sales code to your system for activating. It's about a 2 minute job. This attachment was valid between 2013 and 2018IMG_4877.JPG

Good luck on that. I showed that document to more than a few dealers and none had heard of it. If you're real lucky your dealer will at least try and not charge even though most will. It' still considered a flash on their end and they'll charge at minimum an hours labor. Alfaobd is the only way to go, took me 10 minutes and i have it for other things now.

The headlights are the same on 1500 and the Heavy Duty's. If the dealer is going to charge you I highly recommend getting Alfaobd. I used it on my 2016 Laramie to turn on DRLs( with alfaobd you can pick which lights are your DRLs)

so you can turn on your headlights for daytime running lights .I have seen the parking lights on another truck don't like the look of the yellow lights on by themselves

thanks for the info, lots of choices that's really good.I think the owner should be able to change the setting on their own in the control section but Ram don't let you.

I like my headlight on when I drive ! My last couple cars came that way ! I was turning them on and off by the switch but sometime forget to turn off lol So put a Black Gator Aide cap over the light sensor on the dash. Now auto on :O Cost 0$ Yea a cheesy way lol But sooner or later I will get the Alpha

Before I got alfaobd I took the light sensor cover off, I had some Grey plastidip which almost perfectly matched the dash, painted the sensor cover so I had "drl's"

Pretty easy. The area where the sensor is in higher end models also contains a speaker so that cover pops off. A screw driver with some tape on the end or a trim removal tool and you can get it to pop out. Then unhook the sensor connector. If I remember right the sensor cover is held in by 2 push in clips on the base of it. Either way it's easy to pop out
