dead 2002 4.7 needs replacement engine and i have only 3 options

I have a question and you might be able to help me :
I have 2002 Dodge ram VIN 3d7ha18 n 7 2 g144977 :
so it is 2 WD 2002 4.7L MPI(EVA) engine and is dead.

As I live United kingdom I have very limited access to replacement engines from dodge but there are tones of Jeeps Grand Cherooke with 4.7. I will like to use jeep engine as replacement or one of listed below. - I know most likely I have to replace tone wheel with my original one (16 tooth)

No matter which choice you make, any of these three motors can work for your truck. It is not complicated to get one set up to run in your current application.

Now, with that being said I would choose the motor that has the lowest miles on it even if it is from a Grand Cherokee.


If you do end up buying an engine from a Grand Cherokee, drop the oil pan and bed plate, pull the accessories and timing cover and pull the crankshaft, swap the tone wheels, stick in a fresh set of rod and main bearings while you're at it and cap it off with a new rear main seal.

Next, you will have to swap the right side camshaft gear from your old engine too. The cam gear on the right bank has the tone wheel riveted in place. Leave the timing cover off after you swap thetcrank tone wheels. That will prevent you from having to do double the work.
