So I have been having a hard time starting my new warlock. I have had to boost the truck once and the voltage gauge sits high. I was at the dealer and after a bit of a fight they replaced the battery under warranty. But the charging system is still is high. they say it’s ok but from what I know 14.2 while running is where u want to be. Not 14.9 and I have even seen 15.3v. Guess I have to fight them some more. 6B98FF9F-9DD4-471A-85D1-D9652303CC20.jpegBE589D5F-4A69-4317-BBDB-A8B3996AE7D8.jpeg

Sorry--hope things get worked out. Maybe one of the Ram techs on here will see the post and give you some guidance as to the problem your having.

IIRC 14.whatever volts is fine for charging, since battery chargers often pump that much into the battery... I would still fight the dealer to fix the issue, but I think it might be somewhere in the starting circuit (or perhaps something in the TIPM is preventing it from starting?) A half-volt or so DC isn't going to get in the way of starting a vehicle, nor will it hurt anything.

I suspect the problem lies elsewhere; you just have to beat the dealership over the head and keep insisting that it won't start. It'll help if you can nail down certain conditions that trigger the non-starting condition (temperature, precipitation, etc.)

I wouldn't put too much faith in the gauge. They're not that accurate. The one plugged in is probably more accurate.A good DVOM or scan tool would be even better.14.6 volts is a normal high but as long as it's under 15 it won't boil the battery.

My battery was replaced last year under warranty too. It would be dead after 2 days of sitting in the cold. Dealer here tried to charge me $270 for it. I had to give his head a shake. The service clerk then admitted it was an honest mistake. Yeah right....he woulda taken my $270 had I been an uninformed owner.

Once the warranty ends and this battery craps out, it'll be Costco batteries from now on.

It could very well be that you just had a bad battery. I personally wouldn’t sweat it unless it goes through another battery.

Put a voltmeter on the battery, with truck running, and see what that reads.

If you continue to have issues...RAMCARES is here on the forum. they tend to help with dealer issues.

If I have an issue with my Dealer I always go to the mothership.
Bring the issue up with FCA Canada in your case perhaps.
It's amazing how the attitude of a dealer changes.
Good Luck
