It didn't seem at least from the video that they were revving it to "redline". What were they supposed to be checking? It was a little odd that he was sitting there revving the engine, but he didn't seem to do anything that harmed the truck...

I'm not worried about the revving in park. It's when he goes into drive and the truck moves back and forth. Unless it's a brake check?

and it was because I had sludge in my radiator. Which is a 2014.

Seems like they were brake torquing it which loads up your torque converter

I personally don't see any abuse at all, you put much bigger loads on the engine just driving everyday. Its not like they were doing a break stand burnout.

Seems like they were looking for a noise or slip, clunk, something of the sort. Perhaps trying to replicate the problem. You should have seen the crap they put my sons 2011 Hyundai Elantra through before they diagnosed that his engine was completely shot at 46K miles. Failed CVVT which caused 2 cylinders to run retarded, 1 to run advanced and 1 to run extremely lean with high compression in all but 1 cylinder. Anyway, hope they get to the bottom of your issue and fix her up properly. $42xx.xx later (on hyundai's dime) his remanufactured engine runs like a top. Luckily he had never missed an oil change interval and always ran a 5w20 synthetic blend.

Nothing in that video seemed harmful to your truck. I know I've had my mechanic do worse to my Jeep, while I was standing there. I had an intermittent clunk when taking off from a stop (that turned out to be a loose transmission mount), and he was shifting it to drive, going forward, stopping real quick, shifting it to reverse. He did this several times. As long as they aren't trying to change it from reverse to drive, or drive to reverse while the truck is still moving, there's no problem.

See zero issues there. I do pretty much the same things on customers vehicles depending on the complaint. It's a very common way to try to duplicate certain conditions/issues. Also a way to warm up the transmission without having to do a road test.

I think it just looked/sounded worse than it really is.

I dont think it was abused.
