Tidal Raptor Style Upper Replacement Grille w/LED Amber Lighting

Found it on amazon. But the damn lights burnt out! I’m returning the grill for something else.

Thanks. Hemmmm, well I was interested for the LED lights I see in it. I would install my own LED amber lights behind it, but I can't find for the life of me "DECENT QAULITY" small wheatherproof LED amber lights. All the ones on Amazon are cheap Chinese CRAP! I've now ordered 3 different brands on there only to send them right back when I see what crap they are.

My problem too. It’s why I bought this grill as well. The grill is cheap and flimsy. Serves me right for going to amazon and expecting quality. Should have done some research before ordering.

I bought this one on Amazon for $480, very nice quality and sturdy. I put it on last Jan, so far so good. I bolted a lightbar to it as well. Now if I could only find some decent small amber led's to mount behind it.

It could possibly be an out of round wheel or maybe you're missing some balancing weights

Yeah i finally noticed vibrating like crazy yesterday once I got her up past 60mph .... but I know that multiple weights fell off in past week after just installing new wheels and tires ... gotta bring her in this week to get rebalanced ... im hoping the weights is all it is

13E1D2BF-2B5A-4E9A-AF4F-4C2051494592.jpeg So the new struts and shocks are on the truck and it’s still doing it. Feels slightly better, but still shakes and vibrates. All the bushings are fine. Nothing worn that I saw. Back to the drawing board.

That behavior (video) looks like insufficient toe-in. When the front end was checked, it might possibly be the case that the truck was not shaken down to resting and the lead edges of the tires forced apart before taking the toe reading. That part is somewhat irrelevant, though. The front end appears to be walking a little bit, that is, switching steering from one wheel to the other and back again. Increasing the toe-in to the high limit would prove/disprove it. If it improves, but doesn't eliminate it, I've seen vehicles that have to be set at slightly more toe-in than the spec high limit to make it quit.

Why does it look like the ball joint stud is exposed above the knuckle?

... You stated that you hit a really big pothole and at certain speeds you get a vibration that goes away after you slow down... This HAS to be either a slightly bent wheel or an unbalanced wheel. For those that claim he would feel it all the time regardless of speed, that is incorrect. EVERY time I've had this happen its been a bent wheel.... its been about 5 times. Every time the wobbling starts at around 60-70MPH. I'm getting so good at this that I can even feel which exact wheel it is now, lol.

I didn’t have anything tightened before i took the pic. But what you are talking about, it Sounds like I would have to take it to a shop to have this corrected. Correct?

I'd take it to a shop and see if someone would go for a ride with you to see what the truck does. Ask if they'd be willing to adjust the toe once or twice to see if that corrects it and for how much $, including putting it back to where it was if it doesn't fix it if the following applies: If the truck has been doing this for a considerable time, I would look for evidence of slight toe-out. That would mean that if you placed your flat hand across the tire tread, fingers pointing toward the opposite wheel, and slid your hand lightly over the tread, you would feel a slight knife-edge as you slid it toward the opposite tire and smoother as you slid it back. If that's what it feels like, it's worth going to a shop.

Took it to the tire shop and they ran diagnostics on it. They said that it’s highly unlikely the toe in, unbalanced tires, or wheel spacers, or alignment. But they told me it had a few codes on it. CL0415-00, C2128-00, P02207. They sent me to the dealer because these codes are for the electronic steering. Headed straight to the dodge dealer, and they said most likely the culprit is a blown fuse or a ground short with the electronic steering with the codes found. Have an appt Saturday morning, so more to follow then!

The visit to the shop suggests that you found evidence of toe-out on the tires. What did you find?

I and the shop found minimal wear on the outside of tire. But they said it isn’t significant enough to matter.

It appears to be the case then that no one ran their hand lightly across the tread, both ways. A knife edge on all the ribs/blocks of the tread is the signature of improper toe-in. If it's on the outboard edges, it shows toe-out. If it's on the inside edges, it's toe-in. Minimal wear on the outside of the tire seems to describe wear that is most evident on the outer shoulder rib. Since excessive camber can do that, it would still not do that on the outer shoulder rib only. It would be nice if you get some relief from the problem at the dealer. You have nothing from the trip to the shop.

It’s fixed!!! The codes were nothing. Cleared before the dealership could check them. I took the mechanic for a ride to show him what happens, and viola! A couple wheel weights and 70$ later and I can go highway speeds and over potholes without losing control of the truck! Thank everyone for the help! Said I could use an alignment to really tighten things up.

Make sure to never go to THAT tire shop again. If they can't properly diagnose an out-of-balance wheel, they can't be trusted to do anything.

Funny thing was that I was just about to post saying it was likely a wheel balance issue. I used to be a service writer at a tire/repair shop and that should have been their first thought.
