More I think about it, more I think about just getting one. Was planning on waiting until my warranty was up, but I think it'll be fine. From what I gather you can uninstall it before going in for service if ever needed.

So I need schooled as I've never run a tuner and want to be informed before getting on. From what I gather the Diablo with the Hemifever tune is the way to go.

So do you guys have any videos or screen shots of the options and functions of one of these tuners. I'm probably a couple months out before I can make it happen, but want to know what to expect before buying. One question I have is if the cable is long enough to run up around the front of the center console. I don't know that I want it on my pillar, so I might try and fab something in that slot between the center console and dashboard.

I'm interested in this as well. My truck only has 11000km on it but I already got the exhaust and air intake so tuner is next.

I don't leave mine in. YouTube has lots of videos. Should be able to find what you want.

If I'm not mistaken even if you uninstall the program from the pcm before you go to the dealer once they scan the pcm there to see if its been tapered with they can tell if its been programmed before or not.

I leave mine plugged in under the radio in the little compartment. You can do a lot with the tuner, it's almost better to get the tuner and we can walk you through some of your questions if you have them. At least in my opinion.

The Diablosport web site outlines all of the available functions for your specific year, make & model.
It's all graphics-based links, or I'd cut & paste it here for you.
I didn't measure it before I installed mine, but there's a good 4 or 5 feet of cable, if I remember correctly.
If you're just going from the OBD connector to the center console, you should be fine.

That you guys for the responses. I'll go check out the Diablo website. I looked on YouTube, about all I could find was people running their truck down the road with a tuner.

I thought on the early 4th Gens there was no way to really tell if a tuner had been installed and uninstalled though? Thought I heard it would show the flash but not what was involved. Maybe someone can clarify that.

If you are wanting the best price around on any of these tuners, feel free to Pm us, post in our Vendor section, email us at [email protected] or call us toll free at 855-432-FAST, we ship many tuners everyday and would be more than happy to extend our best discounts to anyone, when you reach out to us (if it is not on the forum) just let us know you are an RF member, and you will get our best discounts!

(oh and we ship to Canada and can include taxes/brokerage so that there is no surprise charges at the door like with some other dealers)

Thanks
Jeremiah

Take a look at Diablo's own youtube video's. How to intall it on your computer and such. I've seen them. Maybe on DS's site. They show gauge lay outs and other things as the drag sim etc.

So I have a question. I hear the truck learns your driving habits and adjusts. Are these adjustments what tuners tweak for better MPG or performance depending on setting?

Also, is it okay to change between setting frequently. Say I drive to work and use the mileage setting, but when I get off work I swing through town and want more HP. Then back to mileage setting in the morning on the way to work. Does changing setting frequently pose any issues?

I lied, I have another question. Does their software work on a Mac? I don't have any Windows computers in my house and really don't want one.

I would set it to the program you most likely will run with that said I have seen beter millage on the 91 tune compared to the milage tune. I also believe they have programs for MAC but I would contact them directly to find out for sure. Also if you are worried about if a dealer can see if the PCM was tuned I'd go in and ask their position on tunes. The one that I talk to sells them and say if they can claim something under warranty that isn't associated with the PCM they will absolutely take care of it, but say computer starts going wonky its on me.

Thanks for the info. Still trying to figure out if you can change back and forth between tunes ok or if it causes issues doing this.

Shouldn't cause an issue but it does take a few mins to rewrite the programs every time. It isn't like a diesel where you can switch them on the fly and it will show that your PCM has been flashed everytime you switch.

When you decide to pull the trigger on the tuner give Matt a call at Moe's Performance! You won't be disappointed. Great customer service, shipping time and overall a great place to do business!
