Nothing big, just tinted my turn signals on my new tow mirrors and paint matched my antenna cover.

The turn signals were painted with some spray tint I bought at Hobby Lobby in the model section. I put on a little more than I originally wanted and it's hard to see the signals in the daylight, but I think it looks much better. I did not clear these, the spray tint comes out looking pretty good. This should have been a cheap mod but ended up costing me about $40... You have to remove the outside convex mirror to get to the screw holding the light in place. The passenger side popped off like it was supposed to but the driver side shattered when I tried to remove it. Guess I pulled it at a weird angle. $33 later, I have a new piece of glass...

The antenna cover was sanded smooth and painted with some paint I had mixed at OReilly Auto. It's close but not a perfect match. Close enough for my headlights since they don't touch any other paint, but for something right up against the original paint, you can tell a slight difference.

Agreed - The little things do make the difference. I went over my '99 Ram and did all sorts of colormatching. Really changed the look of the truck overall. I think these small "attention to detail" mods make just as drastic of a difference as large ones. You look at 2 trucks, and can't tell why, but one looks much cleaner / more "put together" than the other.

Looks good Morgan.
Paint need a little bit metallic in it? and just a shade lighter It does still look good but for those perfectionists out there they may say something (not me of course)

Last I heard the red like ours is a tri-coat with pearl and metallic. You'd have to take it to a body shop to get a perfect match.

Looks great Morgan! Painted antenna base is one of my favorite exterior mods. Fairly easy to do yet really does a lot for the look of the passenger side.

Does the antenna base just pop off?

You unscrew the little chrome ring and the whole base slides right off.

Thanks for all the compliments! I really like these little touches.

Looks good Morgan.

It has a bunch of metallic in it, just hard to tell from the pic. The pic actually makes it look a little worse than it is. The metallic matches up pretty good but the color is a shade too dark.

When I have time... I don't want to rush them. I really want to get them done before it gets too cold.

This was custom mixed at the paint department of Oreillys. They mix it per the paint code and put it in a spray can.

We have like 15 stores in the Tulsa area and only one mixes paint, just have to call around and find out if any other stores do it. It was $25 for a standard size spray can.

For $25 couldn't you buy the paint from the dealer though? Granted it's a can about half the size, but it runs about $13 from my dealer.

I do have a can of that. I originally bought 1 can thinking it was enough to do both my headlights but after talking to Jeremy, I needed at least 2 cans. When I called the dealer to order a 2nd can he recommended getting it mixed at OReillys. For the headlights, it will be a great match since it's not right up against other paint. If I were to paint handles or something, I would probably get the paint from the dealer. Painting the antenna base was more of a color test for the mixed paint to make sure it would look good on the lights.

That makes sense. So I guess that Rustoleum doesn't make a color that matches closely? I know they make a mineral grey and black that's almost spot on to the factory color.

They don't make a color for Inferno Red, I checked...
