Diesel Winter cover parts number

I am currently looking for some help with Diesel Winter cover parts numbers.

I own a 2017 Ram 3500 with the crosshair grill.

Dodge gave me a Mopar parts number of 82212217AD, and wants $265 for it.

I have found several older ones second hand for cheaper, but with a parts number 68079678AB.

From what I can find 82212217AD replaced 68079678AB but have found conflicting information if 68079678AB will fit on a 2017 3500. Some sites say yes while others say no.

Can any one confirm if the older one and new one are the same and and are interchangeable?

Are you talking about the grill cover? I just got one for my 2018 2500 under part number 68079678AB. It says it’s good for 2010-2018 2500/3500/4500/5500 models. Bought it on eBay new for $40 shipped. Fits good.

Should also mention mine is the sport grill, but that doesn’t matter. The size is the same of them all, just the design on the inside is different but the cover will still fit.

I am talking about a winter grill cover to restrict air flow through the rad.

I was given the new part number from Dodge which replaced the old part number. Some websites I found listed the old part number as fitting 2010-2018 Rams but a couple other websites I had found said it wasn't a fit and listed the new part number as what was needed.

From the sounds of what your saying the two covers are the same and will fit. I found the old part numbers on eBay and are listed for much cheaper than the new ones so I will order the old one.

Either part number should be interchangeable. The main difference between the two is the bottom flap that snaps in the bumper is either a 3 snap or 5 snap model but they will work regardless. I found Ebay usually the cheapest place.

Yeah, the part number I listed has three snaps. Really helps get it up to temp. Mine takes a long time 40 degrees and below to warm up and stay warmif below 20 without it. Plus I think it looks good with it on.
