I plan on towing my 1500 behind my motorcoach. Anyone else doing that? I followed the owners manual and can get the transfer case in neutral ok. Then turn off engine with transmission in gear which auto-shifts to park. I had been towing a Silverado which needed the key in ACC position to disengage the steering column lock. This unfortunately discharges the battery which I overcome with a charging line from the motorcoach. As I understand it, the 2023 RAM does not have a steering lock and the truck appears to turn off after several minutes in ACC. Do I need to worry about the battery getting discharged during towing? I know the Patriot Brake System will draw some current but can uses an 2nd battery for that.

You will get about 30 minutes of ACC before it shuts down. There is no steering wheel lock on my 2023 2500. The only way to put mine in Neutral (N) and keep it there is to pop a panel off the dash under the headlight switch and pull a cord to disengage the transmission.

Tulecreeper, have you had any issues with a dead or discharged battery?
