I’m thinking on putting ditch lights on my 22 Rebel. What’s the biggest I can put on and still open my hood properly?
I found a nice set of 5” side shooters I’d like to install.

I found a nice set of 5” side shooters I’d like to install.

It depends on the type of bracket you use.

Are you using:

- Metal clamp on to the rear metal lip of hood
- Hood bolt mounting bracket
- A-Pilar fender one bolt brackets

And then, you can use extender brackets to get the clearance you need.

Granted, this is not a Rebel hood, but the right mix of brackets and extenders allows for a lot of adjustment for clearance.

Warning: whatever you mount there, also be cautious of the windshield wiper clearance with the hood open. Mine are so tight my wiper hardware will bang on the driver side, with the hood fully open.
