I've had a few people interested in air horns so heres what I have
(not sure if theres a better place to put this for everyone to see)
I pieced together some random parts to hook up some air horns
I dont have a compressor yet because its out of the budget for now
The tank has a shradder valve on it so I fill the tank at home or at the gas station (feels like it takes forever but from empty to 120 psi only take a minute or two maybe)
parts list:
5 gallon air tank -$20 or $25
double trumpet horn- $53 (cheaper from ebay:TRUCK AIR HORN HORNS MEGA TRAIN 135 DUAL Trumpet INSANE | eBay but here is their website as well:TRUCK AIR HORN HORNS MEGA TRAIN 135 DUAL Trumpet INSANE | eBay
electric solenoid (came with horn)
15 ft of hose
momentary switch (check radio shack or somewhere online, the switch most horn companies sell is pretty bulky)
inline fuse
relay
I shoved the tank under the toolbox (it has a nice interference fit, not sure if I can even get it back out)
Used a piece of old hockey stick to mount the switch so I didnt have to drill any holes
This picture is hard to see but this is the inline fuse to the relay
With out the compressor you really dont need the relay. The solenoid only pulls about 3.5 amps which is low enough to pull through most momentary switch
Horns are mounted underneath the bed on the passenger side. There isnt much room underneath the hood of the Cummins or I would have tried to put it up front. The finish was really nice but hasnt held up to well to the PA winters
Heres a really proffesional schematic for you guys. I was planning on running a remote switch as well so I could use them from a pod on the key chain but its still on the to-do list
Here is some video for you guys as well
This one makes me laugh

I actually just got some 1/2" hose today to upgrade the 1/4" I.D. hose that I'm using now. I'll let you guys now if it makes any difference or not once I get around to swapping it
