I just notice my Hemi tends to be louder than it was when I bought it. When I sit at idle its louder, almost a whine, when I accelerate its louder. I am not complaining, just curious more than anything.

No idea why it would have a loud whine only at idle but thats it, hot or cold, does it every time.

Read a few forums, sounds like its the radiator fan. Many many many people discuss the same issue and it sounding like a jet engine.

The stock exhaust system will open up a bit making a bit more noise, i.e. a lower tone, as it breaks in.

I’ll mufflers tend to do this over time. Even the factory mufflers can sound different after awhile. My 2016 sounds better now than it did when I got it.

chambered factory style mufflers constructed of stainless steel should never change. They have no packing to blow out. Your clutch driven radiator fan can and will lock up more often and at lower temps as the oil inside ages and thickens. I would go to an electric fan from a V6 model and change to a 180* thermostat while you are at it. If you use a 160* your oil temps will fall down to about 175*.

I believe this is the correct part, but double check me.

You will lose a gallon of coolant when you change the thermostat. I'm not sure if you will need to use a tuner to change your fan settings after the thermostat change, that depends on how hot it gets in your location. I got a tuner, but I'm wanting to mess with things.

My factory exhaust sounds better than when I bought it. Even though it’s chambered it still gets a little deeper sounding over time. Also as your catalytic converters get thinner it causes the exhaust to get a bit louder
