My tail light was cracked open but no damage to the actual bulbs. Just the outside cover is damaged. The case that holds the bulbs has no damage. Would I need a whole new entire tail light/ bulbs and all?

I am not the type of guy to go hunting for a tail light at a salvage yard. I just want the job done as quickly as possible. Do I go to the dealer or do I go to an auto body shop?

How was it cracked? Not under warranty I assume? Can always take this time to upgrade.

Someone hit my truck. Its a ten year old truck so I dont care to fix it. I just want the tail light replaced. I am guessing the auto body shop is going to replace the entire assembly/ bulbs and all.

Ah yes. With a 10 year old truck, eBay, body shop, or anything really will work. And the whole assembly is going to have to be replaced no matter what. Can't just replace the lens even if it is the only part damaged.

So, a 2002? 10 year old truck.......we'll get this moved to the correct gen section too ;)

I stock those. Let me know what side you need and I'll shoot you a price on it.

Didn't even realize the section. Lol. I never go through the gens, just go through new posts. And apparently JJ is a good place for older tails too.

If you get it from JJ you can save a bunch by just putting it in yourself, probably the better way to go depending on how bad the damage is

It is real easy to install too...open tailgate, remove 2 screws on the inside and pull straight out...

JJ-Might get 2 tails from you as I think I have my hideaways mounted in the wrong spots...Don't know yet...

I was told by a guy in my town that some headlights and tail lights are made with knockouts for hideaways.. Is that true?

Also, I've looked everywhere for a wiring video. I have no idea how to wire these once installed. Could improper wiring of these cause harm to my truck down the road?

There isn't really any wiring to do, there is a quick connect plug on the lights that will only connect one way.
