I want to run 33x12.5's on my 2014 4X4. I've heard that's pretty much the biggest tire you can run without a leveling kit if you have the "right" offset. My question is, what is the "right" offset on 22x10 wheels that won't rub and won't require any trimming? Can I make it work without a lift kit?

This may not help, but I have a 2015 4X4 with 20" factory wheels. I currently have Nitto Trail Grapplers which are 295/55/20 on it with NO rubbing and without any changes or corrections. I am about ready to purchase some new tires and I am looking at the 33X12.5X20's, but I did purchase a lift/leveling kit as well as the Bilstein Rear Lift Shocks. I am waiting to see if I will need any spacers as well to prevent rubbing.

Some can pull off a 35 with out a level. The issue is the inconsistent heights leaving the factory. So there is no one size fits all. I would recommend having a shop spec the tires and look into the benefits of replacement front struts (For height and for comfort)

Get the combo and try it and see where it would rub and address it accordingly. I don't think you'll have much to trim with 33" tires. Fender wells can accommodate 37's. I'll be more concerned with how the truck will ride on 22" wheels.

33x12.5's will fit fine without a lift or level, but your wheels play a critical role here. The factory 17's have a 25.4mm offset and the factory 20's have a 19mm offset, neither of those will give you enough clearance for a 12.5" wide tire. I'm fairly certain a 0 offset wheel will work for you.
